When to clean the lighting fixture
If you have really dirty or buggy light fixtures, you won't be able to remove and wash them all within a 4 hour period. For this type of job, you can do one or two of them a week until they are all absorbed.

A dishwasher is a good way to clean glass shades on light fixtures. It is easier and more thorough than washing it by hand.

Fifth step: finish cleaning the bathrooms
By the time you have removed all of the grates and dust, you are ready to finish the bathrooms. I used to use a broom to clean bathtubs and showers, but now Mr. Klein is a nice bathroom cleaning tool. It's called Magic Reach. It does a good job of cleaning and you can easily access the entire bathroom without throwing your back.

When you're done cleaning, put all shampoo and stuff in the bathroom, use a vanity and mirrors, scrub the sink, and polish all formulas.

Clean the toilet bowl
You are now ready to finish cleaning the bathroom toilets. Don't forget the rubber gloves for this job. I use a small trash bin with a bleach solution to disinfect the toilet bowl brush after use. Paper towels are good for wiping the outside of the toilet and seat to avoid contaminating other cleaning fabrics with bacteria.

Clean the bathroom floor
Finally, clean the floor. I find it easier and more thorough to clean the bathroom floor with a rag than with a mop.

Some advice on cleaning clothes
Keep some old cotton rags for jobs like cleaning the bathroom floor. Once the job is done, those rags go straight to the washer. Old shirts and towels make great rags. Cloth diapers also make excellent cleaning rags.

Microfiber fabrics are great for dusting and cleaning cabinet fronts, door jams, window sills and light switchboards. It's also great for polishing chrome cookware and bathrooms, but it's not very absorbent.

The best way to clean a shower curtain
If your shower curtain has mildew, you can wash it with warm water on the gentle cycle and hang it back in the shower to dry.

How to dust your home
Now that you are done with the hard part, you are ready to start dusting.

Furniture: Start at the top and remove all small items from shelves and table tops. Polish the wooden surfaces with any oil or wax you prefer.
Lights: If the lamp shade is covered with fabric, remove it and leave it aside to be vacuumed. Wipe the lamp itself and lift it to the dust under it.
